Traveller Tips

  • Jaipur is a place which shuts down early. Most markets shut down by 9.30 PM and eatries by 11 PM. Do not wander in the dark on your own (safety is top priority).
  • If you are not walking and want a ride to some place book an Ola Mini (through Ola App, radio cab service). At same charge as an auto rickshaw, it's a more comfortable ride, plus no haggling.
  • Stay away from hawkers and beggars, they will try to force sell. Just say NO.
  • Do not interact or pay attention to fake guides. If you need one, just ask at your hostel reception, we will connect you with someone known.
  • Bargain for whatever. In any city of the world traveler are over charged for local items. So is the case with Jaipur. Bargain heavily for anything you buy at local shops.
  • Be aware of pickpockets in crowded areas.
  • Be switched on at all times. Take care of your bags, phones etc and don't leave them anywhere, more often than not you will not find them again.
